2017 Custom Home Trends to Know

Coming up with the ideas and inspiration you need for your custom home can be extremely difficult. With styles coming and going so frequently, keeping up with what’s “in” can be just as difficult. Custom home trends are a great place to get inspiration, but ultimately you need to design your home in a way that fits your personal style. At Micheal and Associates, we’ve compiled some of the hottest trends in custom homes for 2017:

Marble Surfaces

When it comes to custom home trends, marble is no longer reserved for flooring. In 2017, you can expect to see white and gray marble in kitchens and bathrooms as counters and table tops. Marble adds an incredible design element to any space and brings durability to counters.

Jewel Colors

We’re talking rich, bright colors like emerald green and sapphire blue. Everything from a home’s decor to the paint on the walls will start turning jewel colored. These colors make for great accent colors, but can easily overpower a room, so they need to be used sparingly.

Built-In Bars

The age of the craft cocktail is making its way into custom homes. Lower level bars and main floor kitchens are getting bar upgrades. Built-in bars offer ample space for cocktail fixings, glassware, and bottles of your favorite drinks.

Color Fridge

Adding a pop of color to a room has spread to the kitchen. If you’re looking for a vibrant way to brighten up a kitchen or add an accent color, a bright, colorful fridge will give you exactly what you’re looking for.

Hexagon Tile

Square and rectangular tiles have taken over the kitchen and bathroom in recent years, but homeowners are now opting for something with a little more dimension. Hexagonal tiles add depth to a room and you can easily create a monochromatic look or create a focal point by using contrasting colors.

Beige Everything

Gray everything is no longer the custom home trends. Lighten and brighten up a room while still creating a cozy atmosphere by using a beige inspired palette. Because beige is such a natural color, you’ll feel warm and comfortable in a room of beiges.
